apply rule to specific dates

When applying rules, I think they apply to all transactions. I may not be totally correct. Ideally when setting a rule I would have the option to apply retroactively (with respect to transaction date of creating rule), prospectively, or a custom date range. Ideally prospective/retro would just show the dates it will be using.

Hi all!
Just to update on this issue. We have released this feature in Rule Creation/Edit. Now you can easily set a time range that a rule take actions on.

I see this is under review...this feature is crucial as it would allow for batch changes, such as when connecting a new account that brings in 2 years worth of transactions but you already have those transactions on a spreadsheet and categorized, and don't want to do it one by one again. Just an example. Batching and date parameters in the rules and categorization are so vital. Love this app...keep going with its development!

Hi Bryan, you're right. Rules are applied to all transactions currently. We were thinking to support other options as you described, not on the plan list yet though.
