Expense by category only shows subcategories

When looking at the expense by category template it only shows subcategories. Ideally, it would default as showing the top level categories, and then If I wanted further discrimination I could click an arrow and have the subcategories drop down.

Hey folks, in the new Expense by Category block, you should be able to toggle category only view or group view in the side bar of a block edit.

Please let me know if this works well for you now.

Shawn Cao Yes please, we have https://nzfcc.org/explore/ in New Zealand. These work great with the "groups" in Fina, but mean that its too much data to look at when selecting categories.

I agreed with a more interactive UI for each block.
Not sure if you noticed the option "Group-only" in the block settings (click 3-dot on rightthe -top corner).
ToggligTogglingn this option will give you tocategoriesp-level group view vs (sub-)cateogries view.categories, let me know if it does the job for you

Reece yes, this was implemented in the legacy blocks. the new metric driven blocks does not have this option "yet", we have a task for it.

As we are deprecating the legacy blocks, you only can see if you still have old page that contains those old blocks. sorry about that.
