Stephen Hendricks we just released this feature and you can turn on the "auto balance" for your manual account, you balance will be updated automatically based on your transactions. Please set your balance base carefully to make sure it's the balance at the beginning of your oldest transactions.

Thanks Stephen, yes, we thought about this, scenarios are complicated, purely applying that will not be correct for many cases. But it might be a nice settings per account, decided by user.
